Devotional Reflection: Keeping the Altar Fire Burning

As we continue advancing through our month of Fire, we are reminded by God's decree in Leviticus that the fire on the altar was never meant to be a temporary flare-up—it was commanded to burn continuously. In the New Covenant, your heart is the living altar of God, and maintaining a vibrant, hot spiritual life requires daily intentionality and consecration.

Fire requires two essential elements to stay ablaze: fuel and continuous ventilation. The fuel on your spiritual altar consists of your daily time in secret prayer, feeding on the uncompromised Word of God, and offering heartfelt worship. The Holy Spirit acts as the divine wind that fans those spiritual habits into a roaring flame.

When believers neglect the altar, the fire gradually dims into lukewarm coals and cold ashes of routine religion. However, God has called you to be fervent in spirit—boiling hot for His Kingdom! Do not allow the busy demands of life, distractions, or spiritual weariness to cool your devotion. Today, take responsibility for your personal altar, throw on fresh wood through prayer and the Word, and fan into flame the divine fire within you.

Key Takeaways & Application

* Personal Responsibility: You are responsible for tending the altar of your heart; God supplies the fire, but you must supply the fuel.

* Daily Fueling: Maintain your spiritual momentum through regular, uninterrupted personal prayer, scripture meditation, and worship.

* Stirring Up the Gift: Actively resist spiritual apathy by consciously fanning into flame the grace and Holy Spirit power within you.

Prayer Points

* Heavenly Father, thank You for the Holy Ghost fire resting upon the altar of my heart. I decree that my spiritual passion will never grow cold or lukewarm.

* Lord, forgive me for any neglect of my personal altar. I lay down every distraction, compromise, and spiritual sluggishness, offering my life afresh as a living sacrifice.

* Holy Spirit, blow upon my soul today! Fan into flame every gift, vision, and passion You have placed inside me, and keep my heart burning brightly for King Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen.
